Health and Social Care


Are you considering a career where you can support individuals through your caring nature but you are not sure how this will help you in further study - then this may be the course for you.


Course content

Units of study:

  1. Promoting Quality Care and Communication
  2. Promoting Good Health

Entry requirements

GCSE Health and Social Care (Double Award) is not required. GCSE Maths and English at Grade C are preferred.


Method of assessment

Units are assessed by producing a portfolio report and a short answer exam.


Progression

The aim of the course is to develop and sustain an interest in health, early years care and education, social care and issues affecting the care sector. You will develop skills that will enable you to make an effective contribution to the care sector and prepare you for a wide range of jobs which have a "caring" aspect.

AS: 1 year – A Level: (no A Level)
