Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance

SRC Bede Sixth Form's a great place to be, but everyone has to leave sometime! So at some point you'll need to consider what to do next. Most students need to do some research into the options available or into specific ideas they have. Whatever you want to be, we'll treat you and your ideas with respect and help you to look into how to make them happen.

Our full time Careers Co-ordinator, Kate Nicholson, can help you with a wide range of issues, from having no idea about what you want to do to looking at specific requirements for the job or course you want. Connexions Personal Advisors visit regularly and we have extensive resources in the careers library and on the college VLE to help you research.

Planning for University?We go to conferences, open days and have a detailed programme to prepare and support you through applications and offers.

Training or employment is more your thing? We'll help you research employers, write a CV, find vacancies, and prepare for applications and interviews.

Work experience is necessary for some university courses and jobs, so find out whether it will be beneficial and request a placement.

Special events include Progression Day, a day of information sessions on employment, training and higher education, just for SRC Bede students. Speakers come from across the region and beyond to help you get up to date and accurate information.
