IT Facilities
IT facilities are very much on show with whiteboards in every classroom for lessons. The whole building has excellent IT equipment and facilities with wi-fi access across the building.
All the PCs are networked and you will have your own space to store your work. This is a secure area which is backed up regularly and you will be responsible for your own password to ensure your work is secure.
There is a VLE, or Virtual Learning Environment which you can access at college and at home. Many teachers have put excellent subject information on the VLE as well as course documents and learning materials. New information and documents are added all the time and the more you use it the more valuable it will be for exchanging information and ideas online.
The type of information and support you will find on the VLE will vary from course to course but will include course materials such as schemes of work, handouts, powerpoints, presentations and diagrams. You can send a message to your subject teacher and submit work electronically. You have access to the college services section where you will find a range of materials to help and support you – careers advice, information on Aim Higher, mentoring, IT services and the e-library. You will also be able to access the daily bulletin and recent news articles and a calendar.
