BTEC National Diploma in Media Production (Interactive Media)
Introduction
This course provides students with a choice of two exciting new pathways in either Computer Games and Animation or Web and Digital Design.
It is equivalent to 3 A levels which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to go into higher education or employment.
Course Content
Candidates must complete the five core units, the two mandatory specialist units, and eleven other specialist units.
Core Units: Research Techniques for the Media Industries, Pre-Production Techniques for the Media Industries, Production Management Project, Working to a Brief in the Media Industries, Critical Approaches to Media Products
Specialist Units: (Compulsory) Understanding the Interactive Media Industry, Digital Graphics for Interactive Media
Assessment
All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
Subject Entry Requirement Guidelines
BTEC First Cert or Diploma or Intermediate GNVQ in a related subject or at least 4 GCSE's at grades A*-C or appropriate work experience.
Career Opportunities
This course offers a range of experiences that will prepare you for a broad range of further training and employment. These can lead to careers, including studio work, web/games music, composing, film scoring, arts and events management or teaching.
