BTEC National Diploma in Sport - Performance and Excellence (Level 3)
Introduction
This programme focuses on performance within a range of sports, with the opportunity to focus on areas of interest.
You will participate in both theory and practical sessions covering a range of topics and different activities. You may be involved in coaching, fitness instruction and fitness testing, as well as learning about how to analyse other athletes' performance levels.
This programme is equivalent to studying 3 A levels and is studied full time.

You will also develop your key skills in the areas of Communication, Application of Number, Information Technology and Improving own Learning and Performance. All units are assessed internally through presentations, practical activities, assignments and group work.
As well as studying on this course you may wish to participate in recreational or competitive sport as part of the college's enrichment programme.
In addition to the course, learners may have the opportunity to gain further qualifications in the following: First Aid, Coaching, Fitness Instructing
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSE passes at Grade C or above, including English and Maths or an appropriate level 2 qualification.
Progression
On completion of this course you will be able to progress to higher education on a Level 4 programme or enter the Leisure, Sport and Coaching Industry.
