Introduction

If you are considering a career where you can support individuals through your caring nature but you are not sure how this will help you in further study - then this may be the course for you.


Course Content

AS: Two units of study which explore

  1. Promoting Quality Care and Communication
  2. Promoting Good Health

Assessment

Units are assessed by producing a portfolio report and a short answer exam.


Subject Entry Guidelines

GCSE Health and Social Care (Double Award) is not required. GCSE Maths and English at Grade C are preferred.


Career Opportunities

The aim of the course is to develop and sustain an interest in health, early years care and education, social care and issues affecting the care sector and to develop skills that will enable you to make an effective contribution to the care sector and prepare you for a wide range of jobs which have a “caring” aspect.

AS: 1 year – A Level: 2 years
